I've been collecting worlds since I was young: born and raised in Japan, four formative years in India, four more in New York. Three places with three different ideas of what beauty is for — and I've spent my life letting them gather, and speak to each other, inside the things I make.

My love of stones is inherited. My father is a precious stone dealer who began as a chartered accountant and left it behind after moving to Japan — arriving without a word of the language and building a life around gemstones anyway. His devotion, and his refusal to follow the conventional path, is in how I see the world: I've never believed a life has to be lived inside a single discipline.

Which is maybe why mine hasn't been. Before jewelry, I worked in animal welfare at a high-critical-care shelter in India, becoming their youngest National and Global Rehoming Coordinator — and I've always been pulled toward the arts, from acting and dance to painting and sculpture. A degree in Psychology and Performance Studies from NYU Tisch gave all of it a foundation, and moved me from making pretty things that felt good to understanding why I make what I make.

It all converges in adornment. Jewelry is where my threads meet — the materials I grew up around, the rituals I absorbed, the years spent asking why a thing moves us. I make pieces that go beneath the surface most people stop at, and hold a little meaning you can carry on the body.
