Original Designs

I make things for the body to wear — but I'm after more than decoration. I go a little beneath the surface most people stop at, looking for meaning in ordinary and overlooked things, and I build what I find into gold and stone so it can be worn, kept, and felt. Adornment, to me, has always been closer to ritual than to ornament. These are my own designs — where the voice starts, before it meets a market.

We adorn what we revere.

So I set out to adorn the center of our operations — the spine. It holds us upright, protects the signal that runs from the brain to the rest of the body, and lets us move at all. Long before ornament was decoration, it was a rite: a way of marking what mattered and carrying tradition on the body. This piece dresses the spine in gold, vertebra by vertebra — the body adorned from the inside out.

Openwork gold, enamel and coloured stone — lockets and botanicals made to be inscribed, kept, and handed on. The most sentimental register of the work, and the most ornamental.
